Our Laser Acne Treatment effectively clears up active acne, reduces inflammation and improves the appearance of facial scarring with Intense Pulsed Light by removing damaged cells at the deepest levels of your skin.
How Does it Work?
To treat acne, specific wavelengths of light target bacteria in the skin, as well as inflamed sebaceous glands that contribute to breakouts. The light energy in IPL is absorbed into the skin causing intense heat that damages or destroys acne causing bacteria.
What can I expect during the treatment?
During an IPL session, the intense blast of light and heat may be mildly uncomfortable. The discomfort feels like the mild snapping of a rubber band. The number of treatments required depends on the severity of the skin condition. Immediately after treatment you may see the treated spots become slightly red. The treated area may have a slight sunburned sensation for a few days. For best results, 3-6 treatments are necessary spaced about one month apart.
What are the results?
Visible results become apparent after just one treatment. In the weeks following, skin is more evenly toned, pore size is reduced and there is a noticeable reduction in the appearance of acne, redness and scarring. The result after a series of IPL treatments is clearer, even toned skin.
Is it Safe?
The downtime with IPL is dependent on the amount of underlying damaged cells the client may have. Redness may occur; however, this will subside in a couple of hours.
